Farnham Hand-Painted Kitchen
Main kitchen units hand-painted in an equivalent of Neptune’s ‘Pink Peppercorn and the island in an equivalent of Farrow & Ball ‘Brinjal’
An old kitchen in Farnham made new by hand-painting
A nicely laid out kitchen in Farnham which we hand-painted in one week, with a minimum of fuss and mess so the clients could use the space at night. As always we spent a good deal of time preparing the area using the following processes.
Taping off of all surfaces to ensure a clean, straight definition
Waterproof dustsheets were laid and taped down
Doors, drawers, kickboards, handles and knobs, and the front of the dishwasher removed
Every surface was washed down with a specialist cleaner to remove ALL the grease and dirt
All surfaces were machine sanded, with the dust going into a bag
When we leave each day we spray the kitchen countertops to leave them clean and hygienic for use in the evening- basically, as we would like to come home to!
The details were then sanded, using two grades of paper
Any knots or suspect surfaces were coated with a specialist primer
The undercoat was applied
This was very lightly sanded to give the next coat better adherence
The topcoat was applied. We no longer need to apply a sealant as the modern paints have compounds which lock out moisture and prevent stains and scuffs
All the doors and drawers were re-fitted and we re-fastened the knobs and handles.
We went over the kitchen with an eye for perfection and touched up any parts not up to our exacting standards
The finished space was handed back to the delighted client, who had chosen a refreshingly unique colour palette, which is funky, warm, and highly original.
We offer to return to the home if our clients are unhappy with any aspect of the work- no questions asked. However, always remember this is not machine spraying and the hand-painting process will always show the human touch!
