Larsen Paint Finishes

Refurbished hand-painted kitchen & furniture in the Surrey Hills

I was recommended to my clients and asked to update a fairly bland, but superb quality, kitchen near Churt in the Surrey Hills. The original finish was fairly monochrome and we all agreed it could be vastly improved upon, without the expense, mess and all round hassle of replacement. The work was booked in and I allowed for 3 full days for exhaustive preparation with my colleague Sandra, followed by 7 days for applying the primers and top coats. My thanks to my lovely clients for allowing me to take images for the website- it was a pleasure to work in their home.

I have skipped the images of the hard work- removal of doors and drawer fronts, handles and all, for hand and machine sanding. I use a vacuum sander to minimise dust so the kitchen can be used as normal every evening

The dresser having the adhesive primer applied. I have removed the drawer fronts for a complete all round finish. This colour is mixed specially with the top coats in mind!

The first coat of ‘Museum’ by Mylands goes on - a fresh and delicate colour.

A totally transformed, rejuvenated and refurbished kitchen - good for a many years of hard family use.

‘Museum’ by Mylands gives some much needed depth and a great frame to this preparation area

From bland to bravura! A gorgeous piece of furniture, painted by hand in Museum by Mylands

The other dresser completed and finished with more contemporary handles and knobs sourced through Hafele

The kitchen island unit was painted in Inchyra by Farrow & Ball, a tried and trusted complementary tone for a paler kitchen. New handles and knobs were sourced through Hafele
